Two types of transmitters were designed to operate a variety of remote control items in the 2017 Air Hogs product line. A larger premium transmitter was designed to control high end performance drones above the $100 price point. A smaller mainline transmitter was designed for drones and ground vehicles between the $20-$89 price point.
Design scope: Lead Product Designer from ideation, CAD, 3D print prototyping, material and graphic application.
Race Legends - The One Moto Show 2018
Carbon Projects was selected alongside 40 other artists to exhibit the "Race Legends" series at The One Moto Show in Portland Oregon in February 2018.
“Race Legends” is a digital illustration series of five influential race motorcycles throughout the history of motorcycle racing. Each print features a helmet which hints at the brave pilots of these extraordinary machines.

DR1 is a world class drone racing organization that hosts drone races internationally with the best drone racers in the sport. this drone provides the closest experience to professional drone racing at an appealing price point. The first person view goggles receive the camera view from the drone, providing pilots with the thrill of being in the driver seat.
Design Scope: Lead product designer and creative direction from ideation, cad, prototyping, material and graphics application through to production. Working alongside the engineering team in China during the middle phase of development, further in-person direction was provided for the final production model.

Harley-Davidson 883R Sportster Street Tracker
HARLEY DAVIDSON 883R STREET TRACKER
Inspired by the Harley Davidson 883R Flat Track Series, the transformation process began with a stock 883 Sportster. Many custom parts were carefully designed and engineered to convert the model into a performance Street Tracker. The sprocket cover and triple trees were design focused components that enabled this custom machine to be able to dominate both road and track racing.
The 883 Series was a class of it's own. Racers were only allowed to make minimal modifications in order to compete; under strict regulation guidelines, stock Sportsters were converted into flat track racers. Using this race series as inspiration, the design process began with identifying the areas that needed to be upgraded. Weight reduction and performance improvements were the main focus of the conversion. Starting with a stock 1998 Harley Davidson XL 883 Sportster, many parts were designed and fabricated converting it into a race capable, street legal flat track Harley.

Star Wars - Star Destroyer
In 2016 Air Hogs earned exclusive rights to the North American market for the Star Wars Remote Control license. Star Wars, being one of the biggest licenses in the world presented us with the challenge of making their iconic ships come to life. The Star Destroyer is one of the many iconic ships within the Star Wars franchise and was the perfect choice to be developed into a remote control drone vehicle for the new release of Rogue one.
Design Scope: Lead product designer from ideation, cad, prototyping, material and graphics application through to production. Working closely with Lucas Arts through a strict design approval process. Final approvals were done in San Francisco at the Lucas Studio’s for final in person production approval.
Star Destroyer CAD model
Star wars follows a strict process of design approvals to ensure all products accurately represent the star wars galaxy. In the creation of the star destroyer product, many reference images were used to accurately represent each detail of the ship into the final flying product.
Star Destroyer final product

Air Hogs - Icon
Air Hogs RC is a toy brand that specializes in remote control drones, helicopters, planes and ground vehicles. To mark the 20th anniversary of the brand, a refreshed logo was created. The design scope was to create an icon that would be applied to product, packaging and promotional material. Honda CB450 - Motorcycle Restoration
Over the course of 10 months the process of restoring a non-running 1968 Honda CB450 began. The restoration consisted of a full tear down of the motorcycle and going through the meticulous process of cleaning, rebuilding and painting each part.
With a final vision in mind, a rendering was created to use a guide in the later stages of the build.
Design Scope: To restore the motorcycle to its original running condition under a strict budget.
The Flat Out graphic illustration was designed in Adobe Illustrator and then screen printed in a limited series of t-shirts. The graphic was inspired by the infamous flat track racer David Aldana, who wore an entirely black leather suit with a skeleton design on the front. This suit sparked so much controversy that AMA (American Motorcyclist Association) officials threatened to ban David if he continued to race wearing the suit.
